Police have set up their Toastmaster’s Club in a move to enhance communication skills of its personnel, especially in English.

The force’s management director Robiah Abd Ghani said this was to ensure personnel were able to communicate effectively especially with foreign tourists.

“Effort must also be intensified to enhance the use of English as an effective communication tool in our organisation to allow us to reach out to the community in every possible means,” she told reporter after launching the Kuala Lumpur Police Toastmaster’s Club here.

Robiah said the club was an essential platform which imparts knowledge, communication and leadership skills effectively to the police officers.

For a start, she said, the club targeted 35 to 40 personnel.
