The government has to pay RM90 million compensation to the concessionaire of New Pantai Expressway to reduce toll at the PJS2 plaza (for Subang bound traffic) for five years.

Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak said today the compensation was for reducing the toll for motorists to RM1 from the RM1.6 in the concession agreement.

The reduction was a government initiative to lessen the burden of road users, Najib said in a written answer to Loke Siew Fook (DAP-Rasah) in the DewanRakyat.

Najib, who is also Finance Minister, said that postponement of toll increases for the next five years only involved highways run by PLUS Expressways Berhad, MTD Capital Berhad and New Pantai Expressway Berhad.
