Popular German skin care brand debuts in Malaysia

Linola a well-loved pharmaceutical skincare range developed by Dr. August Wolff in Germany has finally arrived in Malaysia. It is used to treat chronic and acute atopic eczema sufferers and also help to improve specific skin problems such as dry, itchy scalp, psoriasis and chafing. It not only helps with the healing but also with soothing the itchiness and inflammation that comes with the condition.

Founded by Dr. August Wolff in 1905, it was his son Dr. Kurt Wolff who joined in 1937 later innovated the products resulted in preparations containing linoleic acid. Linola has continually gone through countless research and development exercises till today.

“The body must be supplied with linoleic acid, just like it has to be provided with vitamins from food to stay healthy. Yet the question remained: Would it be possible to use a cream with linoleic acid to get rid of skin damage that is caused by a lack of linoleic acid? This would directly aid skin regeneration! This idea resulted in a formulation created in 1938 that is now widely known. Its inventor gave it the obvious name of “Linola” – the one with linoleic acid. This active substance is partly responsible for keeping the outermost skin layer sealed from the inside so that not too much moisture can escape.” Dr Manuel Hauser explained during a recent workshop and launch session.

It is the most preferred medical skin care product by pediatricians in Germany and was awarded No.1 standing in Germany under the best supportive medical care category for all types of dry skin for two years consecutively (2012 and 2013).

Linola contains linoleic acid rich vegetable oil and is free from harmful mineral oils and silicone making it suitable for very dry skin. Linola products will be available this month exclusively at all Caring pharmacies nationwide.
