Maggi brings Ramadan delights to underprivileged children

KUALA LUMPUR – The kids were surprised and thrilled to see the colourful and festive decorations when they returned home from school.

The children from ASDAF were delighted to receive packs of Maggi bubur lambuk this Ramadan.

Maggi, the global food brand that has become a household name in Malaysia, recently brought Ramadan cheer to 62 residents and caretakers from Asrama Darul Falah (ASDAF), a hostel for underprivileged children.

The Maggi team arrived at the hostel to put up Hari Raya decorations to give it that extra sparkle and festive mood. The kids were surprised and thrilled to see the colourful and festive decorations when they returned home from school.

In addition, the Maggi team conducted fun learning activities and education talks with the children in an interactive approach about keeping active and eating a healthy balanced diet, including a nutrition session where Nestlé Malaysia category nutrition manager Nurul Iliani Ahmad shared on the importance of embracing healthier and more active lifestyles.

Maggi chefs assisted by ASDAF caretakers prepared the nutritious Maggi bubur lambuk, the brand’s signature porridge dish, in preparation for buka puasa.

“In this blessed month where the values of compassion, tolerance and self-reflection are embraced, we are glad to spend time and enjoy buka puasa with the children and caretakers of ASDAF,” said Nestlé Malaysia Berhad CEO Alois Hofbauer at the breaking fast gathering with Maggi’s bubur lambuk.

“At Nestlé, we truly believe that the food industry has a vital role to play in enabling healthier lives. Through our products and initiatives, we are firmly committed to our purpose of enhancing quality of life and contributing to a healthier future for all Malaysians,” he added.

Head of ASDAF Tuan Haji Saari bin Kiban said, “Our children are very excited about the Maggi team joining us here today. We are truly grateful to receive this buka puasa contribution from Maggi and the activities organised which definitely will never be forgotten by the children.”

Nestlé Malaysia business executive officer Geetha Balakrishna said Maggi will be collaborating with Jasmine and BHPetrol to distribute the Maggi bubur lambuk to 64,000 Malaysians across the country this Ramadan.
