Mutiara Damansara ushers in New Year with fireworks and concert

PETALING JAYA – At the Countdown Concert, revellers enjoyed performances by various local artistes

Hip-hop and R&B quintet Ruffedge blew the audience away with their performances of Bila Rindu, Khayalan and Lemas during MDCC’s The Final Countdown 2019 concert.

Mutiara Damansara Commercial Centre (MDCC) in Petaling Jaya, which includes the Curve, eCurve and IPC Shopping Centre, celebrated the end of yet another year and countdown the final hours to usher the New Year 2019 with a spectacular fireworks show and concert.

Revellers gathered together to participate in the New Year’s Eve fete, ‘The Final Countdown 2019’, which started in the afternoon and lasted well into the night.

The celebrations started off with a Fitness Fiesta session with sports enthusiasts led by Malaysian fitness celebrities Hansen Lee, Nana Al Haleq and Lee Yvonne sweated it out to the beat of the music with Zumba.

Kids also had their share of fun at an inflatable playground.

At the Countdown Concert, revellers enjoyed performances by various local artistes such as Aizat Amdan, Ruffedge, Elvira Arul, Talitha Tan and Orange Tan.

Excitement ran high for the signature fireworks as the clock was ticking to 2019.

The night sky lit up with a dazzling display of fireworks, the longest and largest in Mutiara Damansara.

When the clock struck midnight, the sky exploded into a rainbow of colours and sparkles, earning a reputation for being the largest and longest fireworks display in Mutiara Damansara.

The Curve senior general manager Jazmi Kamarudin said the annual countdown event was a much anticipated event by shoppers and residents in the neighborhood and hoped they enjoyed the special night.
