4-year-old kid steals spotlight at Comic Fiesta 2018

A 4-year old cosplayer Muhammad Alfatin from Shah Alam, Selangor steals the show at Comic Fiesta 2018 by wearing the character’s “Optimus Prime” costume from the series “Transformers”.

An adorable 4-year-old kid Muhammad Alfatin from Shah Alam, Selangor who cosplayed for the first time stole the show at Comic Fiesta 2018, when he came dressed up in full as Optimus Prime, a “Transformers” character, and thrilled a crowd of fans watching his transformation.

With his father keeping watch over him, Alfatin in standing position, then crouched down, lay on the chest flat on the floor with the face down and extended both his legs straight out and arms forward transforming himself into a truck in a matter of few seconds.

According to Alfatin’s father, the awesome “Transformers” costume made out of cardboard and other stuff, cost him RM150.00

Now in its 17th year running, the two-day Comic Fiesta 2018 (from 22 – 23 Dec) was held at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) for the second year running with over 50,000 geek culture enthusiasts in attendance. Among those were a huge group of cosplayers, including Alfatin, who brought their favourite anime characters to life.

Comic Fiesta event director Hew Shih Chien said, “We are very much inspired to create a unique ACG culture that blends in with our Malaysian culture and our love for Japanese pop culture as well. Through Comic Fiesta, we hope to instil a culture where ACG can provide a positive impact to our lives.”

Comic Fiesta 2018 at KLCC has garnered over 50,000 attendees.

Visitors thronged the booths and exhibits offering merchandise and anime-themed stuff.

There were 120 premium booths and over 300 basic art booths in the Creative Art Market for visitors to purchase various things, such as fanmade comics, artbooks and trinkets.

Also hosted were a wide range of activities such as butler and maid café by Le Petit Fox, video game competitions such as Tekken 7, Street Fighter 5, Dragonball Fighter Z with various stage games, panel talks and night concert performed by kors k, Ryu* and YUC’e.

The convention concluded with a high note by local performers and Japanese pop rock band Myth & Roid.
