Perak hospital plumps for public transport

Perak Health Committee chairman Dr Mah Hang Soon said the service was provided as part of the move to improve the quality of service at the hospital.

The Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital (HPRB) here is providing a free public shuttle bus service to the hospital to overcome parking woes.

Perak Health Committee chairman, Dr Mah Hang Soon, said the service is being provided to improve the quality of service at the hospital.

“We received many complaints about parking problems at the hospital and decided to provide a bus service,” he told reporters after presenting Chinese New Year gifts to 34 children at the hospital’s pediatric ward today.

The bus service stops at five locations in the HPRB area: the nurses’ hostel, the day-care complex, maternity hall, parking lot of the maternity ward and the emergency section.

He said the bus service is available from 7am to 7pm daily, except on Saturday, Sunday and public holidays.

In another development, Dr Mah said HPRB would be getting an additional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machine and a MultiSlide CT Scan, worth more than RM20 million, this month.
