The national-level Sports Fiesta here this weekend is expected to gather 4,000 youths from 40 affiliates of the Malaysian Youth Council (MYC), state MYC chairman Mohamed Maliki Mohamed Rapiee said.
The event is aimed at identifying talents among the youths and provide a networking platform for the affiliate bodies.
It would involve numerous sports and cultural activities such as futsal, badminton, netball, ping pong, paintball, scrabble, cultural performances, choir and poetry declamation, he said.
The event was also part of the strategy to attract one million youth to attend Malaysia’s Youth Day in May next year, he said.
Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek will launch the event on Friday.
