Three motorcyclists were killed in three separate accidents in Selangor and Perak yesterday and today.

In the first incident, Hapet@Azmi Aseh, 39, an Orang Asli man from Kampung Orang Asli, Bukit Bangkong, Sungai Pelik in Sepang was killed after he lost control of his motorcycle at Km 16.7 of the Guthrie Expressway heading towards Shah Alam, near here, early this morning.

Selangor Traffic and Public Order chief Supt Che Hussin Omar said the labourer, who was on his way to work, lost control of his motorcycle before crashing into the left road divider and was thrown onto the motorcycle lane at 1.20am.

“The man sustained serious head injuries and died at the Sungai Buloh Hospital,” he told Bernama here today.

Che Hussin added the victim’s family was informed of the accident and the case was being investigated under Section 41(1)(A) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Meanwhile, in IPOH, a senior citizen was killed by a tree which fell in front of him at Km 24 of Jalan Kuala Kangsar-Parit, 50 kilometres from here yesterday.

State police chief Supt Wan Abdullah Ishak said 74-year-old motorcyclist Mohd Zainal Mat Jadik from Manong was killed in the 7.30pm incident.

Mohd Zainal was on his way home when he came across a tree which just fell due to the strong windy condition, he said when contacted today.

Wan Abdullah said the victim failed to brake on time and crashed onto the tree which was obstructing the road.

The victim, who sustained serious head injuries, died on the spot and was sent to the Kuala Kangsar Hospital for post-mortem, he said.

In another incident, a motorcyclist died following a collision with a four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicle at Km23.6 of Jalan Kuala Kangsar-Gerik today.

Gerik police chief Supt Mahad Nor Abdullah said in the 11.45am incident, Fakaruddin Ishak, 40, who hails from Kuala Kangsar, was on his way home from Gerik when he collided into a 4WD vehicle coming from the opposite direction.

Fakaruddin, who suffered severe head injuries, died on the spot and his body was sent to the Gerik Hospital.
