The operators of about 100 tourist boats in the Kuala Terengganu district have ceased activities since early this month due to the monsoon season.

Redang Island resort operators association secretary, Lorenz Law, said the boat service to Pulau Redang, Pulau Perhentian and other islands off Terengganu had been temporary halted due to choppy sea waters and huge waves brought by the monsoon.

The tourist boats would resume operation again in March next year, he told Bernama here today.

However, he said the tourist boat service to Pulau Kapas in Marang would not be affected.

“Perhaps, it is because the island is near to the mainland,” he added.
