The Ip Man fever continues. An exciting seminar on the martial arts entitled “The Legend Is Born-Ip Man” featuring the film’s producer Checkley Sin and protagonist Dennis To will reveal some interesting facts about the Chinese martial arts and the movie-industry in Asia. The duo will return to Malaysia especially for this seminar.
The seminar will be officially kicked off on 20 November 2010 at the 12th World of Chinese Book Fair to be held at the Malaysia International Exhibition Convention Centre (MIECC) at the Mines shopping centre, Seri Kembangan. Checkley Sin and Dennis To will dwell on the recent developments of the Chinese martial arts and the benefits to the Asian movie industry. The seminar is open to all.
Checkley Sin is a student of Grandmaster Ip Chun, a financial professional-turned- movie maker. He is well-known for producing several popular Ip Man movies, including Ip Man, Ip Man 2 and The Legend is Born-Ip Man. Dennis To is a student of Checkley Sin and Hong Kong’s youngest world martial arts champion. Now a famous kung fu star in Hong Kong, Dennis is an exponent on Wing Chun, Hong Quan, Tai Chi, Bi Kua and other martial arts forms.
The theme of the seminar is “Chinese Martial Arts and Kung Fu Movies” with the objective of promoting the martial arts spirit and knowledge on Chinese martial arts.
The seminar will also be held at several university and college campuses in the Klang Valley to bring Chinese martial arts closer to the younger generation.
