5000 flock i-City for mid autumn festival
More than 5000 people including tourists flocked the i-City in Shah Alam to celebrate the Mid-autumn festival hosted by Selangor state government on Sunday.
The inaugural celebration saw Selangor chief minister Khalid Ibrahim and i-Berhad executive chairman Lim Kim Hong release a lantern into the sky to launch the event.
The launch was then followed by a lion dance and 24 festive drum performances.
The event is part of efforts to promote i-City as the premier investment location for investors, the education and tourism industry.
Officials and investment communities from Asian countries were then invited for a dinner with the Selangor government.
i-City provides 20 Megabits per second high speed multi-telco brand connectivity, fibre optic networks with backup power supply, Tier 4 Ready Data Centre as well as concierge, receptionist and secretarial services.
Hannah: Don’t be influenced by racial slurs
Meanwhile at the Subang Jaya Municipal Council stadium complex, Subang Jaya assemblyperson Hannah Yeoh urged Malaysians not to be influenced by recent slurs made by certain quarters.
She said this during the launch of Subang Jaya Aidilfitri and Mid-Autumn Fetsival celebration recently, while adding that Malaysians from different races are living in harmony.
“The crowd attending this event tonight is a testament to that,” she said.
The festival was jointly organised by the Subang Jaya ADUN office, MPSJ and Subang Jaya Lion Club. Attendants were entertained with traditional dance of various races and a special appearance of singer Amirah Ali.
