Sports Planet Academy to hold first free football clinic in Subang

Sports Planet City Youth Football Academy (SPCY) will be holding its first football clinic for free at USJ 2 community football field this weekend.

Sports Planet City Youth Football Academy (SPCY) will be holding its first football clinic for free at USJ 2 community football field this weekend.

There are two main categories – Junior (aged five-12) and senior (aged 13-18) children will be exposed to various tactics and technic of football by experienced  coaches through the two-day event  that runs from from 8.30 to 10.30am.

Noted for successfully running a series of futsal clinic programs before, SPCY head coach Mohd Sulaiman Gerrard said the overwhelming response on the programs and the tie up with Komunitikini and Voize.my have encouraged him to organize something bigger.

“Many parents are helping us to take in the children, giving us a lot of feedback or even joining to become our coaches when they knew what we have been doing for the community,”

The collaboration between SPCY and Komunitikini is targeting to uplift the grassroots of Klang Valley.

“SPCY has training centres all over Klang Valley and we know Komunitikini is on the pulse of the area as well. The tie-up serves as a strong platform in engaging the grassroots and underprivileged,” said Mohd Sulaiman.

He also added that the academy will continue to sponsor the underprivileged children in joining their weekly training sessions if they show enthusiasm and determination. The only pre-requirement is that they must not skip a session.

The weekly training is only priced at RM50 a month, much lower in comparison to other academies.

Mohd Sulaiman believes that football is the best tool to hinder youth from social ills, and through football, one embraces team-spirit, discipline, confidence and is guided to the right path.
