Dr Xavier: We walk the talk

KAPAR – Selangor government had distributed RM16 million to tamil schools since taking over the state administration in 2008.

We deliver what we promised and not by simply announcing and later not doing anything said Selangor Exco member, Dr Xavier Jayakumar during the official opening of the Program Titian Digital ICT Lab at SRJK(T) Valambarosa, Kapar.

Dr Xavier said that the tamil schools are close to their heart and the Selangor government had distributed RM16 million since taking over the state administration in 2008.

“We don’t want to channel the money through political and all our funds goes straight to the schools Parent and Teacher Association (PTA) bank account,” said Xavier.

According to Dr Xavier, 30 ICT labs each costing RM 85,000.00 would be build by end 2012.

Speaking at the same event, Kapar MP S Manickavasagam thanked Selangor Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim and Dr Xavier for allocating funds to set up the ICT labs in the three tamil schools.

He further praised the school headmasters and PTA for taking bold steps in inviting them to the event and requesting the school headmaster and teachers to increase the Ujian Penilaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) exam passing rate from current 37% to at least 55%.
