Get equality right for Malaysian women

In conjunction with the 100 years of International Women’s Day, Empower with the support of the US Embassy organised an event themed “Get Equality Right for Malaysian Women” at the MACEE headquarters in Bangunana Yayasan Tun Razak in Kuala Lumpur on the 8th of March 2011.

The event was to commemorate the efforts of women to increase political participation in Malaysia as well as to recognise and nurture women leaders who have undergone extensive training under the “menjana kuasa wanita” programme.

Empower also strongly urged the Government to fulfill its commitment to ensure at least 30% political participation in Malaysia.
