Malaysiakini and the International Center for Journalists have trained over 180 citizen journalists in Malaysia, including Sabah and Sarawak.
These citizen journalists have produced over 800 videos and garnered over 5 million views through Malaysiakini.tv.
The citizen journalists have their own website, and they gathered for their first conference on May 1-2, 2010 in Kuala Lumpur.
As the pioneering batch, these citizens who turned citizen journalists have achieved much success. This is affirmed by the words from the co-founders in Malaysiakini and also state assemblyperson Hannah Yeoh.
