Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng accused Barisan Nasional of using money politics, scare tactics, the deployment of government machinery and personal attacks against Zaid Ibrahim to win the by-election in Hulu Selangor. He quoted Oriental Daily News‘ estimation of RM160 million being promised by BN in this by-election.
CJ Lilian asked Lim what Pakatan Rakyat is going to do if Barisan Nasional uses the same approach in Hulu Selangor at the coming Sibu by-election. He said Sibu is going to be even tougher because the state government is under the federal government
