Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and his wife Rosmah Mansor enthralled almost 20,000 people at Tanjung Marina Bay in the Penang BN Chinese New Year open house yesterday.

Before the arrival of the prime minister, the area was buzzing with activity and people were arriving for the event as early as 4pm.

Also present at the open house was Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng accompanied by his wife Betty Chew and other state assembly persons and dignitaries, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon and Penang Gerakan Chairman Datuk Dr Teng Hock Nan.

During the open house, the premier with his entourage were greeted with a rousing welcome from the Penangites and tourists who had been waiting almost for an hour before they arrived.

Among those spotted at the scene was Roslin with his wife Aishah, who were seen together with their child waiting for the grand arrival.

“It was a memorable day as this is the first time I took a glimpse of the 1 Malaysia prime minister”, said Roslin.

Also at the scene was a tourist, Delton, from Australia who had been mesmerized by the colorful lion dance troupe and the sea of people at the open house.

“A great atmosphere and the lion dance troupe certainly passes off as being a first class performance among all”.

He also added it was his first time laying eyes on the Prime Minister Najib Razak in person.

The prime minister conveyed the usual BN public message of peace and unity. He requested that the rakyat practice the concept of moderation.
