Pantai Dalam MP Nurul Izzah Anwar and Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Muar coordinator Hizwan Ali came out strongly in support of DAP and its leaders to alleviate fear amongst some of PKR’s association with DAP.
They were speaking at the Ceramah Umum 29 May, 2012 at Kampung PT Bulat Darat, Jln Bukit Mor, Muar a quiet kampung close to Bandar Maharani Bandar Di Raja had about 250 people attended the 3 hour event which started at about 9.00pm.
Nurul Anwar arrived at about 10.45pm to the cheers of ‘Reformasi’ and spoke for almost an hour.
She was visibly disturbed by the violence that erupted during a ceramah at Lembah Pantai recently and called on those responsible to stop this kind of behavior which instills fear in the minds of the people. She added that Malaysia is a democratic country and anyone is free to contest in a clean and fair election.
Meanwhile, Hizwan Ahmad said that some people have taken the view that DAP will change Malaysia and make it a Republic.
He said this is talk by those who do not understand the law and want to undermine us.
On the issue of a non-Malays becoming a PM, he added that UMNO had ruled for the last 50years and they never considered it a problem since no effort was made to enact an act of parliament to ensure that a non Malay never becomes a PM, whose fault is that he asked.
