The Negeri Sembilan government and Syarikat Air Negeri Sembilan Sdn Bhd (SAINS) today donated 10,000 bottles of drinking water to the Johor government to be distributed to flood victims in the Kluang district, Johor.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan hoped the contribution could help lessen the burden of the flood victims.
“During floods, many of the water treatment plants would stop operating, so we decided to ease the plight of the flood evacuees by providing them with bottled drinking water,” he told reporters, yesterday.
Mohamad said if there were more requests for such a contribution after this, the state government would try to fulfil them.
He said the contribution was also part of SAINS’ social responsibility programme. SAINS has provided three lorries to send the 10,000 bottles of drinking water to the flood victims in Kluang.
