Lions clubs installs new presidents and boards of directors

JOHOR BAHRU – The joint installation of many clubs together saves time and also provides all the clubs the opportunity to work as a team.

Recently, Lions Clubs from Johor Bahru, Kulai, Pontian and Kota Tinggi held a joint event at the Straits Garden Restaurant in Johor Bahru for the joint installation of presidents and their boards of directors.

The event cum dinner, which was participated by 20 clubs in Region 8 and Region 9 saw sixty new members inducted into the Lions family.

According to Chan Hoi, District 308 B1 governor, the joint installation of many clubs together saves time and also provides all the clubs the opportunity to work as a team.

He said this will promote good fellowship and is also a great means of saving various resources.

The theme for the year 2012-2013 is One Team One Vision.  According to Chan’s message, the winning formula for a successful race team is “Dedication + Preparation + Teamwork = Excellence”.

Dr Ben C. Ng, a dentist by profession and Immediate Past District Governor, talked about his most passionate project, which is nurturing young people to become future leaders.

He enjoys working with the Leos, and he said with the correct guidance, these young people go through tremendous and positive changes.

He also spoke about the youth exchange programme which is open to teenagers from 16 years old to 19 years old.

He said the exchange programme is also a medium to promote Malaysia to other countries.
