Malaysian Highway Authority (MHA) director-general Ismail Md Salleh said 21 concessionaires agreed to participate in corporate social responsibility as token of appreciation to highway users, compared to 15 last year.

“The discount rates differ according to the concession companies involved and we hope that users will benefit from the discounts and rebates offered,” he told reporters at his office yesterday.

North-South Expressway (NSE), Seremban-Port Dickson Highway (SPDH), North-South Expressway Central Link (Elite), Butterworth-Kulim Expressway and Malaysia-Singapore Second Link Expressway (Linkedua) offer rebates of 20 per cent to class one motorists who use Touch N Go and Smart Tag.

The highway operators also offer rebate of 10 percent for class one motorists who use the highways today and on Friday.

Ismail said the rebate offers do not include the toll plaza at Bukit Kayu Hitam, Tanjung Kupang and Sultan Iskandar Building.

Damansara-Puchong Highway (LDP) offers 60 sen discount to users from all classes while West KL Traffic Dispersal System (Sprint) users will enjoy 20 sen discount for all classes.

A 20 percent discount is offered to users of Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway (Akleh), Shah Alam-Kuang Highway (Guthrie) and Kemuning-Shah Alam Expressway (LKSA- all class) and Senai-Desaru Expressway (SDE-class one).

A 10 per cent discount await users of Smart Highway (all class), Shah Alam Expressway (Kesas-class one), Duta-Ulu Klang Expressway (Duke-all classes), Cheras-Kajang Highway (Grand Saga – all classes), KL-Putrajaya Expressway (all class), New Pantai Expressway (NPE-class one), Sungai Besi Highway (Besraya- class one) and Kajang-Seremban Highway (Lekas-class one).

KL-Karak Highway (KLK), East Coast Expressway Phase 1 (LPT 1) and KL-Kuala Selangor Expressway (Latar) offer 10 percent discount for class one motorists using Touch n Go and Smart Tag.

New North Klang Straits Bypass Highway (NNKSB) offers ten percent discount for all class from 11pm Tuesday until 8am Wednesday while Kajang Dispersal Link

Expressway (SILK) and South Klang Valley Expressway (SKVE) offer five percent discount for all classes.
