21 Schools attend Japanese Language Festival in Kuala Lumpur

HE Mr Nakamura Shigeru, Ambassador of Japan to Malaysia in his welcoming speech said that he is impressed by the hard work done by both Malaysia and Japan in promoting the teaching and propagate of Japanese Language.

Japanese Language teachers and students from 21 schools including the University of Malaya and Institute of Teacher Education (International Languages Campus) attended the 5th Annual Japanese Language Festival held in SMK (P) Jalan Ipoh recently.

HE Mr Nakamura Shigeru, Ambassador of Japan to Malaysia said in his welcome speech said that he is impressed by the hard work done by both Malaysia and Japan in promoting the teaching and propagate of Japanese Language.

We hope that the students would be further encouraged to make progress in learning Japanese”, said Toyoda Shoichi, Director of Japan Foundation Kuala Lumpur.

Many activities were held during the festival, mainly the 27th Japanese Speech Contest, Japanese Choral Speaking Competition and Cultural Workshops.

Participants were offered to take parts in three slots of parallel Cultural Workshops including martial arts like Aikido, Karate and Ninjutsu, foods like Okonomiyaki and Takoyaki, Manga and skills like Ikebana, Kirigami and manga drawing.

Besides, Japanese Language Markets offered a wide range of Japanese Food, Cultural Items Selling and Exhibition.
