Three Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officers detained by police for allegedly involved with robbing a money changer at KL International Airport (KLIA) have been relieved of duties.

Three Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officers detained by police for allegedly involved with robbing a money changer at KL International Airport (KLIA) have been relieved of duties.

The three officers were relieved of duties pending the outcome of police investigation, MACC said in a statement issued yesterday.

According to the statement, the three were not senior officers as reported in a local newspaper and MACC considers the claim as serious.

MACC was commenting a newspaper report that three senior MACC officers were detained by Selangor police for allegedly robbing a money changer at KLIA on Sept 15.

The statement also said MACC is assisting police in the investigation.

“MACC believe that police will conduct a comprehensive and transparent investigation,” it added.
