Animal rescue group Second Chance will hold an adoption drive cum fund raising event this Sunday Dec 30th from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Level 2, near Digit World, at IOI Mall in Puchong.

There will be more than 20 puppies up for adoption including Echo, Ezra and Ebby who were among seven Dalmatian cross siblings dumped outside Second Chance shelter last month.

Chance will sell merchandise and promote its sponsorship program during the adoption drive.

Citizen Journalists Malaysia (CJMY) contacted Second Chance coordinator Tracy Ho who said, “We hope that during this festive season, more people will open up their hearts and homes to give these pups a home.”

Ho said,” Second Chance is urgently raising funds to build a new shelter at Hulu Langat as it will be evicted from its current premises soon.”

With operational funds coming solely from donation, the shelter hopes for more public support to alleviate its financial burden to support more than 250 dogs.

She said the public can pick a dog to sponsor for only RM30 or RM50 a month.

Ho said there are more than 100 adult dogs at the shelter waiting for a home, some have been there for more than two years.

Those who want to view the dogs at the shelter can call Ho at 016-3323382, Ivy at 019-2937217, Mei Leng at 012-9761958 or Mr. Leong 012-2269150.

Formed in 2009, the group of caring animal lovers started by feeding stray dogs which roamed outside the Chap Fook Tong Temple, located at 3 ½ mile off Old Klang Road.

The fully volunteer-run shelter has since been extended several times and now encompasses multiple main kennels and several smaller enclosures and uncovered fenced areas.

As such, their main concerns are space and financial constraints
