Mayor promises cleaner JB

The new Mayor of the Johor Bahru City Council (MBJB ), Burhan Amin said the council is concerned about the city’s cleanliness and will continuously work on upgrading its cleanliness, even after privatization by SWM Environment Sdn. Bhd.

” MBJB will expand its cleanliness programme called 3 K ( Kebersihan, Keindahan & Keceriaan ) to raise the awareness of cleanliness in the city. There will be more tree plantation, green landscape and recycling projects to make JB a cleaner and friendlier environment for everybody. The cooperation of the public is important to make 3K a success, he said this after being sworn in as the Johor Bahru City’s 7th Mayor in a ceremony recently.

Also present at the ceremony were Johor Housing, Local Government, Works and Public Amenities Committee Chairman Datuk Ahmad Zahri Jamil and Johor State Secretary Mr. Obet Tawil together with council members of MBJB.

Before becoming the Mayor of JB, Mr. Burhan Amin was formerly the Johor Bahru District Officer and worked for Johor local authorities for more than 15 years.
