A woman with her 22-day-old baby and two children managed to escape in the nick of time when fire struck their house in Kampung Padang Tengir, Manir, today.
Firemen in three engines put out the 9.30am blaze within five minutes. Damage to the house was estimated at RM70,000.
Nor Azizah Yusof, 42, was feeding her baby in the house when she noticed one of the rooms ablaze.
“I rushed out of the house with my children. I tried to return to the house to salvage some important documents but decided against it as the fire was spreading fast,” she said.
Her husband, carpenter Wan Ramli Wan Muda, 41, was away at work at the time.
