Indian drummers and Kuda Kepang at Malaysia Day celebration

For the past three years, Jalan Bangkung in Bangsar has become ‘the place’ to be during the Malaysia Day celebration.

And it has been a tradition of sorts here, in Jalan Bangkung for Malaysia Day to be filled with street parties, cultural performances, forums, talks and exhibitions to create a memorable experience.

The Malaysiaku celebration this year created a festive atmosphere for two days along Bangkung row of restaurants – Cove, Cava, Opus and Leonardo’s.

On the September 16 night, audience were enthralled with the performances organised by Pusaka, which saw Indian Temple Drummers and The Kuda Kepang performance taking centre stage.

Indian Temple Drummers, known as Chinna Rasa Urumee Melum Mayana Kali performed traditional devotional songs,and also surprised the audience by performing a special rendition of Wau Bulan and later was followed by a Kuda Kepang performance which was brought down from Parit Raja, Batu Pahat, Johor.
