Reaching out to the youths through King of Street Basketball competition

JOHOR BAHRU – KOSB (King of Street Basketball) is a competition made specially for the youths and to provide them with an outlet to express themselves [VIDEO]

Phoenix Entertainment and Plaza Sentosa organized The King of Street Basketball competition on December 1, 2013.

A total of 282 participants took part in this three a side competition comprising of 94 registered teams making the total the biggest King of Street Basketball so far in the state of Johor. Nine women teams enrolled in the women’s category while the men category were divided into 4 age groups which included the under 15’s, under 17’s, under 19’s and under 21’s.

The organizing chairman, Alex Tan SY, 31, who is also a director of Phoenix Entertainment said that KOSB (King of Street Basketball) is a competition made specially for the youths and to provide them with an outlet to express themselves and at the same time to encourage them to indulge in some form of meaningful exercise.

Alex also added that one of the objectives of KOSB is to promote one’s love for life. Befrienders Johor Bahru who was the official partner for the event also had a booth display in the vicinity of the competition. This was enabled for the youths to have easier access whenever the need for emotional support arises.
