A Negeri Sembilan Road Transport Department (RTD) enforcement personnel died after being hit by a car while carrying out his duty along the Nilai-Batang Benar Road, near the commuter station, yesterday.
State RTD director Saiful Azzri Hamzah said Wardi Ahmad, 28, was in a government four-wheel-drive vehicle with three colleagues about 11am when they stopped by the roadside to check on a lorry that broke down.
“They were inspecting the lorry when an on-coming Ford Laser car lost control and rammed into the lorry and RTD vehicle where Wardi was standing behind,” said Saiful Azzri.
Wardi and the car driver Ismail Dahlan, 44, were seriously injured and rushed to Tuanku Jaafar Hospital in Seremban where they died.
The three other RTD personnel and lorry driver were not injured in the incident.
