With approximately 750 job opportunities up for grabs, over 1000 job seekers turned up at the one day Career Carnival and Northern Territory Talent Development Clinic, yesterday.

The carnival was jointly organised by Bandar Darulaman Community College (KKBD), Northern Zon Community College and Jobs Malaysia at Country Heights Resort.

Speaking for KKBD, its director Rosli Mohd Arif said that the carnival was free to the public and it was organised to reduce the rate of unemployment in the country.

It also provided a place for the potential employer to meet potential employees.  Interviews were done on the spot and some job offers were made immediately.

The industries participating in the carnival included, hotel, fashion and clothing, electrical and wiring, automotive, beauty and make-up, and accounting among others.

ADUN Bukit Kayu Hitam, Ahmad Zaini Japar, who is also adviser to KKBD officiated the carnival.

“I am grateful to the organisers for organising such an event.  I think it was a good idea and it should be organised more often.  I got my first job today”  said a visitor.
