An usual of 12 pensioners were cheated of their dividends by online scammers and fraudsters every year.
Public Services Department (PSD) director-general Tan Sri Mohamad Zabidi Zainal said amid the fatalities were nurses and teachers.
“Generally those who receieved one lump sum of payment had no idea on how to manage their prosperity.
“PSD will attain in assisting them with wealth management sessions,” he said after attending the ‘Every Pensioner is a VIP’ communication programme at Dewan Sri Pinang of late.
He also said mora than 400 pensioners had protected jobs with JobMalaysia under the 1Malaysia Civil Service Retirement Support (1MCSRS) idea.
He said most of those who managed to get re-employed were ex skilled workers like physiologists and nurses.
“We are keen on their concerns and wants.
“Althought they have been pensioned off, many are still regarded capable and want to continue working,” he added.
“We will tally the opportunities with those who are recorded with us.
“For those unemployed, we plan to supply them with specialised training so they are marketable,” he said.
Mohamad Zabidi has also handed 200 certificates of gratitude to Penang civil servants as the ceremony commenced.
The 1MCSRS is the Federal Government’s programme under the National Blue Ocean Strategy plan to nuture the well-being and welfare of pensioners.
The programme consists of five core services- sustainable well-being, well-being and welfare of pensioners, re-employment programme, financial managing and entrepreneurship prospects.
