MPSJ gets new boss after three-month wait

The Kuala Langat district officer Asmawi Kasbi has been appointed as the new council president of the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ).

The Kuala Langat district officer Asmawi Kasbi has been appointed as the new council president for Subang Jaya Municipal Council.

He marked his first day in the office today by having an introductory meeting with MPSJ’s department heads and a brief photography session with media.

He holds a master’s degree in land resource management, a degree in social science, and a diploma in public administration, and a certificate of land resource management and urban development from Cambridge University.

Asmawi has been involved in public service for 30 years, serving the Selangor Government and Federal Government for 15 years respectively.

His highest post in Federal Government was deputy secretary director in the Ministry of Rural Development.

In 2005, he was promoted to helm the Kuala Langat Land District Office.

Acting council president, Abdullah Marjunid, who led MPSJ for the three-month period the period before Asmawi’s appointment, will resume his post as deputy council president.

Asmawi succeeds Adnan Ikhsan who was promoted to deputy secretary in the Ministry of Urban Well Being and Federal Territories.
