The “Respect Your Limit” safety seminar organised by Plus Expressways Bhd (Plus) throughout the country will focus on drivers and operators of heavy vehicles.
The general manager of the Traffic Safety Department of Plus, Zakaria Shaffie said the seminar would give exposure to the target groups on the aspect of safe driving on the highway in efforts to reduce traffic accidents involving heavy vehicles.
He said Plus stressed on the importance of respecting one’s ability and the vehicle driven because most drivers ignored these factors such as feeling sleepy and tired while driving.
“As a result, they are involved in accidents which affected many passengers and other road users,” he said when met after the opening of the safety seminar by the President of the Sandakan Municipal Council, James Wong, today.
Zakaria said that since such seminars were held three years ago, 4,000drivers, operators and owners of heavy vehicle had the opportunity to attend the seminars, and this year the company targeted 1,500 participants.
