Ara Damansara Medical Centre celebrates 10 years

Ara Damansara Medical Centre (ADMC), Shah Alam, which is part of the Ramsay Sime Darby Health Care, celebrated its 10th anniversary recently

Ara Damansara Medical Centre (ADMC), Shah Alam, known for it’s commitment to quality healthcare, celebrated its 10th anniversary recently.

The hospital which is part of the Ramsay Sime Darby Health Care (RSDH) group, opened its doors to the public on Jan 12, 2012.

RSDH Group chief executive officer Peter Hong Kah Peng said the group is proud of ADMC’s accomplishments of caring for the community since its inception. 

“The medical successes, unswerving dedication to patient care and going beyond the call of duty have resulted in creating a trusted healthcare facility that the surrounding community has come to rely on. Kudos to ADMC and here’s to many more years of amazing achievements,” he said.

ADMC chief executive officer Miranda Harumal said they are excited to celebrate the milestones and achievements despite the pandemic.

“Despite the challenges of the pandemic, our committed team continued to deliver exemplary service and it is this group of people who are at the heart of everything we have achieved. We also feel immense gratitude for the support we have received from the community we have been serving over the years,” she said.

10 Amazing Years

Present at the birthday event which had a merry, carnival-like ambience at the hospital lobby were Peter Hong, Miranda Harumal, RSDH chief operating officer (corporate) Wong Ching Yee, RSDH Group medical advisor Dato’ Dr Jacob Thomas, Dr. Hilwani Kaharuddin (ER physician/ADMC unit head) and Dr Zubin Othman Ibrahim (consultant cardiologist and physician).

The hospital had organized a series of activities and events for doctors, nurses, employees, former patients and business partners to celebrate the hospital’s ‘10 Amazing Years’ and to share in the joy of the milestones and successes achieved.

The celebration kicked off with a lively flash mob performance by dancers dressed up as doctors and nurses.
The cake-cutting ceremony to mark the 10th anniversary of Ara Damansara Medical Centre (ADMC). 

These activities included a flash mob performance by dancers dressed up as doctors and nurses with a cake-cutting ceremony made complete with the appearance of the hospital mascot Ardee.

A ceremonial tossing of Lou Sang was also held to usher in the Chinese New Year. Members of the public were also treated to a free flow of cotton candy and popcorn.

Various health screening booths were stationed at ADMC’s lobby to offer free general health screenings to the public.

Other events include a mini art session for children, information booth on self-breast examination and free ankle brachial index screening.

The 220-bed hospital also held daily free eye screening sessions and a blood donation drive in collaboration with the National Blood Centre.
