Centrepoint 8km Fun Run 2023 unites Bandar Utama

Bandar Utama recently experienced a heartwarming display of community spirit as residents gathered for the Centrepoint 8km Neighborhood Fun Run 2023.

Organised by the Bandar Utama Commercial Corporation, this event not only encouraged a healthy and active lifestyle but also served as a catalyst for fostering a sense of unity among the locals.

On a sunny Sunday morning, participants from various backgrounds converged at the starting point, Centrepoint Bandar Utama, as early as 5 AM. Their enthusiasm and energy set the tone for a day filled with camaraderie and physical fitness.

Bandar Utama, with its iconic landmarks like 1 Utama Shopping Centre and educational institutions, celebrated its communal spirit through this event.

Bandar Utama community-building initiative

The event was officially inaugurated by Tan Sri Teo Chiang Kok, the director of 1 Utama Shopping Centre, highlighting the significance of the fun run as a community-building initiative.

Tan Sri Teo expressed his satisfaction at the impressive turnout and favourable weather conditions, stating, “I am happy to see the response to the neighbourhood run, and I hope that everybody will have an enjoyable time. We hope to make this a regular event.”

Safety for the runners was assured through the collaborative efforts of the Bandar Utama Auxiliary police and security officers, working in tandem with the Bandar Utama police to efficiently manage traffic and crowd control. Two private ambulances were on standby to provide immediate assistance, highlighting the commitment to the well-being of the participants.

The success of the fun run was further enhanced by the support of ten sponsors who generously contributed prizes and resources. Students from First City University College actively participated by selling food, drinks, and merchandise, contributing to fundraising for community initiatives.
