Carlsberg Malaysia inspires generosity and environmental consciousness

Carlsberg Malaysia’s Top Ten Charity Campaign triumphantly returns, raising RM20.5 million for education and promoting environmental consciousness.

Carlsberg Malaysia’s flagship community engagement programme, the Top Ten Charity Campaign (Top Ten), has made a triumphant return after a three-year hiatus, leaving an indelible mark on the community. With overwhelming support and generous donations, the campaign has successfully raised a total of RM20.5 million in education funds, making a meaningful impact on 10 vernacular schools. The initiative not only extended its reach to Sabah but also strengthened Carlsberg Malaysia’s commitment to supporting education and climate action in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG).

Stefano Clini, Managing Director of Carlsberg Malaysia, expressed gratitude for the community’s generosity, highlighting that the achievement would not have been possible without the passion and contributions of individuals dedicated to education and the environment. Clini emphasized the power of collective action, stating, “It is a testament to the power of collective action and underscores our shared dedication to fostering positive educational change.”

Environmental Consciousness Takes Center Stage

This year, Carlsberg Malaysia went beyond focusing on education, also championing environmental consciousness and sustainability education. The brewery partnered with Zero Waste Malaysia (ZWM) to raise awareness of waste management and promote a cleaner and greener environment through talks conducted in all 10 schools.

Clini stated, “Through this initiative, we aim to empower local communities through education and raise awareness about the importance of environmental sustainability. We strongly believe that with education and awareness, we can create a more environmentally conscious and socially responsible future generation.”

Record-Breaking Achievements

A standout achievement of the campaign was the staggering RM7.8 million raised for SJKC Sin Ya in Penang, making it the largest amount of proceeds raised in a single charity concert in Top Ten history. Additionally, two schools in Sabah, SJKC Syn Hua and SJKC Lahad Datu Middle School, collectively raised RM1.8 million.
