Firefly expands with Penang to Bangkok flights

Firefly, a subsidiary of Malaysia Aviation Group, is set to launch direct flights from Penang to Bangkok’s Don Mueang International Airport starting November 3.

Firefly, a subsidiary of Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), is expanding its flight network by introducing direct flights from Penang to Bangkok’s Don Mueang International Airport (DMK) from November 3.

The airline will operate five weekly flights, marking its second route into Thailand, following the launch of direct flights to Phuket last year. This expansion demonstrates Firefly’s commitment to catering to the growing demands of leisure and business travellers across ASEAN.

Introductory one-way fare

Firefly’s new route will be serviced by a Boeing 737-800 with a single economy class configuration offering 189 seats.

The flight, numbered FY3632, will depart from Penang at 1600 local time and arrive at Bangkok’s DMK at 1650. The return flight, FY3633, will depart from DMK at 1800 and land in Penang at 2050.

To kick off the Penang to Bangkok route, Firefly is offering an introductory one-way fare of MYR159 (approximately USD38) for the Penang to Bangkok sector, and USD51 for the Bangkok to Penang sector.

These special fares are available for purchase until October 22 and are valid for travel between November 3, 2023, and March 30, 2024.
