McDonald’s Malaysia starts 2024 on a positive note with the official opening of its newest restaurant in Rembau, Negeri Sembilan.

The inauguration by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Haji Aminuddin bin Harun marks a significant step in McDonald’s growth mission, contributing to the socio-economic development of the state.

Dato’ Azmir Jaafar, Managing Director and Local Operating Partner, McDonald’s Malaysia, expresses enthusiasm about the Rembau restaurant.

“We hope that this restaurant can further expand the delivery of Delicious Feel-Good Moments to our customers, making McDonald’s the preferred restaurant for the community here,” he said.

The company is also proud to provide job opportunities and contribute to the economic well-being of the local population.

Currently, there are 20 McDonald’s restaurants in Negeri Sembilan, with plans to open three more in Gemas, Rasah, and Mambau in 2024.

The nationwide goal is to have 750 restaurants by 2030, with a current count of 370 across Malaysia.

McDonald’s expands presence in Negeri Sembilan

During the opening ceremony, McDonald’s Malaysia, in collaboration with Ronald McDonald Welfare Association (RMHC Malaysia), contributed Back-to-School Packs worth RM120,000 to 800 primary school children from less privileged backgrounds in Negeri Sembilan.

This initiative, in place since 2017, has benefited 157,000 children nationwide, including nearly 8,000 in Negeri Sembilan, aiming to ease financial burdens for low-income families and motivate students positively.

Azmir, also the President of RMHC Malaysia, emphasises the alignment of the restaurant opening with the company’s core values, stating, “This aligns perfectly with the company’s core values that prioritize well-being and aim to create a positive impact in society.”

In the same event, McDonald’s Malaysia presented the business zakat payment for the year 2023, amounting to RM110,000, to the Negeri Sembilan Islamic Religious Council (MAINS).

This contribution is part of McDonald’s commitment to social responsibility, with a total of RM651,000 in business zakat paid to Negeri Sembilan since the initiative’s inception in 2016 under the Reza Group.

The Rembau drive-thru restaurant opening signifies McDonald’s dedication to its growth mission and corporate social responsibility.

The company’s commitment to providing quality service, job opportunities, and giving back to the community remains evident as it continues to expand its footprint in Negeri Sembilan.
