The Pahang 1Malaysia Mobile Clinic will start its operation on April 1, according to Health Minister Liow Tiong Lai.

He said RM1 million had been allocated to buy a bus and equipments for the mobile clinic.

“The mobile clinic will traverse the state to provide free treatment to residents, especially in the rural and interior areas,” he told reporters after meeting with residents of Kampung Baru Kerdau, today.

Liow, who is also MCA deputy president, said at the moment Johor, Perak and Selangor had such mobile clinics, which appeared to receive good response from the public.

Earlier, he had a meeting with members of the Bandar Kerdau MCA branch election machinery.

Liow said the Barisan Nasional government was committed to raising the health level of the people by providing world-class medical facilities.

“A good and modern health service will produce healthy citizens and a developed and competitive nation,” he said.

Liow, who is also Bentong Member of Parliament, said the Kerdau health clinic would also be upgraded to a rural clinic soon.

“A medical officer will be placed permanently at the clinic to provide treatment,” he said.
