More than 300 Orang Asli in Pos Gob have been seriously affected by the pollution of their water supply from the Gob river due to alleged uncontrolled logging over the past three months.

The Orang Asli find it increasingly difficult to use the river water for their daily needs as it is smelly and dirty.

Pos Gob federal village security and development committee chairman Agah Bongsu claimed that the villagers voiced their protest but to no avail.

He appealed to the Kelantan Drainage and Irrigation Department to investigate the contamination of the river water by logging activities.

The villagers had been living comfortably before the state government permitted logging in the area without any consideration for their well-being, he said.
