A popular eatery at Jalan Kemuja in Bangsar was yesterday attacked by a group of armed robbers.
In the 5.30 am incident, eight men stormed into the shop when a worker was busy preparing for the day’s business. He was attacked with what he describes as a ‘home-made knife’, which badly wounded him in the forehead.
“Two of them waited outside while others stormed inside,” said a fellow worker, who also revealed that the robbers got away with some RM2,000.
The money included the wages of the Indian-origin worker, who had been newly paid. “They did not leave five cents behind. They emptied all the money they could from the counter and from the worker,” said the manager.
“I’m still reeling from shock, I haven’t recovered yet,” he added when asked about how he was coping with the incident.
A 7-11 outlet nearby was apparently broken into by the same men. There were however no injuries in that incident.
