The flood follows heavy rainfall in the state since Monday. Azizan hopes that the people do not blame the Timah Tasoh Dam for the flood as it had occured before the dam became operational.

Perlis Drainage and Irrigation Department director Nishad Mohamad said Timah Tasoh dam had to release excess water due to heavy rainfall.

Meanwhile, the Raja of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Putra Jamalullail and the Raja Perempuan Perlis, Tuanku Fauziah Abdul Rashid,  visited the flood victims in the late evening.
