Sabah: Kunak hardcore poor get housing

Forty heads of hardcore poor households listed under eKasih today received keys to their houses under the Hardcore Poor Development Programme (PPRT).

Forty heads of hardcore poor households listed under eKasih yesterday received keys to their houses under the Hardcore Poor Development Programme (PPRT).

The handing over of houses costing RM40,000 each under the National Key Result Area (NKRA) projects was done by Kunak State Assemblyman Datuk Nilwan Kabang.

He said this was part of PPRT projects in Kunak approved by the Rural and Regional Development Ministry last year.

“Another 40 PPRT houses will be handed over later this year. The government has also approved repair to houses of 81 recipients.

“The free houses for hardcore poor proves that the Barisan Nasional (BN) government is serious in championing the people.”

Nilwan said the BN government was sensitive to the people’s needs and would champion them irrespective or racial background and religious beliefs.

“We are very grateful to the government especially the Rural and Regional Development Ministry for providing comfortable living for the hardcore poor.”

The state assemblyman also distributed mattresses and pillows from the Women, Family and Community Development Ministry.
