The director of Johor Immigration department, Mohd Nasri Ishak said that the decision to open a branch office here was based on the a large number applicants coming from the Kulaijaya area to the Johor Bahru Immigration office for its services.  He said this during his speech in conjunction with the ‘Meet the Customers’ ceremony in a shopping mall here yesterday afternoon.

Mohd Nasri also said the department now can provide a much more better service to the residents here in terms of convenience and comfort as the residents need not to travel all the way to Johor Bahru.

Besides accepting and processing new passport applications, the branch can also process passport renewal and also lost passport applications.

He added that, the department is also in the process of opening another branch office in Johor Bahru to ease the congestion at the main Johor Bahru Immigration office.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the Villages Co-ordination Committee for Senai state constituency, Tay Chin Hein expressed his hope that the residents of Kulaijaya and the surrounding areas will make good use of the services offered by the Immigration department here.
