Five people, one of them a Thai national, were injured after the bus they were traveling in skidded and overturned in a large ditch at Km38 of Jalan Kuala Terengganu-Kota Baharu near Felda Belara yesterday.
District Public Order and Traffic chief ASP Che Khazahari Amat said the Thai national was Arifah Wan Muda, 20, and the Malaysians were Nor Wahidah Mat Ti,?21, Mohd Lim Abdullah, 60, Mohd Zulkifl Zohor, 20, and the driver, Md Amin Mohd, 40.
He said the accident happened at 11.05am when the bus with 12 passengers, five of them Thais, was traveling to Setiu.
“At a bend, the bus went out of control on the road made wet by a drizzle, grazed a Kancil car coming from the opposition direction and overturned in the ditch,” he told reporters at his office here.
All the injured people were given outpatient treatment at the Sultanah Nur?Zahirah Hospital, except for Mohd Lim, a Social Welfare Department employee, who was admitted as he was suspected to have suffered a heart attack, he said.
