Kokilam Kathirvailu is crowned Mrs Malaysia World 2018

Kokilam Kathirvailu, 34, an Open University Malaysia student majoring in Psychology, and mother of three children, was crowned Mrs Malaysia World 2018 in the pageant final at the ballroom of Royale Chulan Kuala Lumpur on 29 Sept 2018.

Kokilam, who also won one of the six subsidiary titles, Best in Evening Gown, will represent Malaysia in the Mrs World pageant on 12 January 2019 that will be held in the city of Zhangjiajie, China.

Kokilam got to wear the stunning diamond and aquamarine encrusted RM2.5 million Ceres champion crown. In addition, she also received a prize package that included, among others, RM25,000 worth of jewellery from Ceres, 1,000 pieces of Glitzkoin coins, RM5,000 worth of Ceramiracle skincare, a pair of shoes worth RM2,500 from Lewre Bespoke, a pair of Nottingheels custom-made shoe worth RM1,000, complimentary 2-night stay at Royale Chulan Cherating.

Lila Ruzaini Hussain, 47, CEO of an NGO, also from Kuala Lumpur, was first runner-up and Charity Queen subsidiary title winner while Marianny Ismail, 33, a petroleum geologist from Malacca took the third spot.

The competition received 60 entries drawn from Johor, Selangor, Malacca, Pahang, Sarawak and Kuala Lumpur and shortlisted to 18 finalists.

Mrs Malaysia World pageant’s country and national director Datin Harveen Kaur, the reigning queen of Mrs Malaysia World 2017, said the Mrs Malaysia World pageant was aimed at female empowerment by motivating and empowering mothers and married women into being the best possible version of themselves.

The event was graced by Tengku Puteri Seri Teja Pahang Puan Sri Tengku Muhaini Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah. The reigning queen, Mrs World 2017 Alice Lee Gianetta was also present.

Mrs Malaysia World 2018 was supported among others by Mrs. World Pageants, Inc., Ceres Jewels, Bhawna Navneet, Glitzkoin, The Royale Chulan Kuala Lumpur, Nicsman 1940s by Lewre, Ceramiracle, Notthingheels, Poise Beauty Salon, The Wee Folk Entertainment and Dhadheewalla Production.
