Johor Clay Target Shooting Association (JCTSA) started off as the Royal Johor Shooting Club way back in 1990s.
In 1994 its shooting range, which is located in Tebrau Estate (now Bandar Dato’ Onn), had to be shifted to make way for the rapid housing and commercial development.
A protem committee was set up (lead by the then YBhg Dato’ Muhamad Ali Hashim) to develop a new shooting club at a new range.
The REM estate in Kota Tinggi was later chosen as the site for the new range. In 1997, JCTSA was formed and later officiated by His Majesty the Sultan of Johor.
