The Johor Xing Jun Welfare Association, a non-profit organisation, has launched its first mobile acupuncture treatment clinic. The Chief Minister of Johor, Ghani Othman, officiated the launch. The state government has contributed RM300,000 to the running of the mobile clinic.

The association chairman, Albert Lee, stressed that the acupuncture treatment service is free and open to everyone, especially the underprivileged living in the city. The mobile clinic is equipped with basic medical facilities for providing outpatient treatment services, and has a doctor-in-attendance onboard.

He added that the cost of running the mobile clinic is high, which includes the cost of medicines, maintenance and employees wages and he hoped that the public can contribute generously to enable free community-oriented medical services to be the norm.
