The Plantation Industries and Commodities Ministry will not hesitate to withdraw the quotas given to oil mills and wholesalers if they are to found to have smuggled or cooperate with syndicates to smuggle out the commodity to foreign countries.
Its deputy minister Hamzah Zainudin said the ministry had identified several entrepreneurs who were involved in the illegal activity.
“In addition to the quotas being withdrawn, they will also be charged in court,” he told reporters after officiating Tanjung Pauh Trading Sdn Bhd’s new cooking oil factory here today.
In conjunction with the ceremony, 110 needy local residents received the money contributed by the management of the oil factory. Also present at the function was Kelantan State Secretary Aiseri Alias.
